New traitor Legions join The Horus Heresy: Legions in a new major expansion.

The Horus Heresy: Legions is receiving its second expansion, Extermination, on December 6th, 2018. It will introduce three new traitor Space Marine Legions, with 140 new cards and 9 warlords, starting with the heavily armed Iron Warriors. The secretive Alpha Legion will come next, followed by a special event where players will battle it out to decide whether the World Bearers or the Night Lords will join the expansion set.

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel series, The Horus Heresy: Legions takes one of the richest settings in the vast Warhammer 40,000 universe and reimagines it as a digital card game where you can build a deck of unstoppable Space Marines to take part in quick, brutal online duels. Lead your Legion with warlords such as Loken, Khârn, Mortarion and many other epic characters, as you relive the battles that tore apart the Imperium of Mankind.

Four months after a successful launch, the game is receiving its second major expansion, Extermination. Set during the second wave of The Dropsite Massacre, Warmaster Horus will reveal the full extent of his treachery. The Legions who came to support the battered Iron Hands, Salamanders and Raven Guard, featured in the previous expansion, will decimate their battle brothers in an overwhelming Astartes on Astartes assault, marking a tragic turning point in Warhammer 40,000 history. These new Legions are:

The Iron Warriors

Logical, fiercely pragmatic and never outgunned, the IV Legion specialises in siegecraft and attrition wars. Introducing a new trait, Siege, the Iron Warriors will feature a unique play style focused on overwhelming their opponents through unrelenting firepower and their willingness to sacrifice their own forces in order to achieve victory at any cost.

The Primarch Perturabo will not miss the chance to prove his Legion’s worth. Doing his bidding will be infallible Warsmith Forrix and Narik Dreygur, whose dishonourable wounds on Isstvan V would cost him his Primarch’s favour forever.

The Alpha Legion

Masters of secrecy, lies and espionage, the XX Legion applies unconventional tactics to warfare to expose their enemies without them knowing. Once it’s too late to react, they attack with overwhelming force to finish their enemies. With radically new mechanics like Secret Identity, Traps and Secret Orders, the Alpha Legion allows plenty of mind games, deception and dramatic identity reveals!

Of course, the Primarch Alpharius will be playable, along with his First Captain Ingo Pech and the unorthodox Harrowmaster Armillus Dynat. No matter who you’re playing with, every game will begin with your Warlord kept secret, under the guise of an unidentified Alpha Legionary!

The Word Bearers or the Night Lords

Players will have to fight for their favourite Legion to join the game: One side will battle for the inclusion of the World Bearers, who have given in to Chaos fully and accepted it as the Primordial Truth. On the other side will be Night Lords, who can instil fear even in the hearts of the mighty Astartes.

More warlords and cards, like fan favourite Lotara Sarrin and her ship’s Ursus Claw, will be introduced during various Events covering the near extinction of the Loyalist Legions on Isstvan V and their desperate attempts to evacuate once the battle is lost.

The Horus Heresy: Legions is available on Steam, iOS and Android.
