Before the Horus Heresy was even conceived, the Word Bearers were punished for their zeal. The city of Monarchia, built as a shrine for the worship of the Emperor as a god, was razed by the Ultramarines under His orders. This was just the start of the Word Bearer’s fall to Chaos.
An Unholy Purpose
After being punished by his father, Lorgar entered a state of contemplation. This would send him and his Legion on a pilgrimage to discover if the Imperial Truth was the correct doctrine to carry humanity onwards. During this pilgrimage, they would not only discover that the Emperor lied, but also that they were not alone in the universe.
When the Horus Heresy erupted the Word Bearers organized a military operation that would bring terror to the realm of Ultramar, both as a way to serve Horus and in retaliation for the razing of Monarchia. World by world Lorgar and his sons laid waste to Guilliman’s realm and performed a dark ritual that drastically changed the state of the galactic war.
The Blessed Son
Argel Tal was one of those chosen to follow Lorgar in his pilgrimage. He was particularly affected during this journey, having caught the attention of an otherwordly being that forever changed him. After this sojourn in the Eye of Terror, he returned different, transformed. Lorgar gave him his direct blessings and promoted him to the rank of Chapter Master.
Follow the journey of Argel Tal as he brings vengeance onto the Ultramarines during the Shadow Crusade. Take control of the first of the Gal Vorbak and fight your way through Ultramar, punishing your enemies and taking control of your inner daemons to raze the unbelievers!
Harbingers of Chaos
Complete the campaign as Argel Tal to claim your rewards (including the Chapter Master himself!) and unlock more Warlords to play the story. Fight in the many fronts of the Shadow Crusade and best the powerful final boss to earn an exclusive legendary card back.
Bring punishment onto those that wronged the Word Bearers and kickstart or bolster your existing collection! Lay waste to the worlds of Ultramar to push the Horus Heresy onwards and gain the favour of the Gods of Chaos!
