“Valour is tested not in victory, but in suffering.”
– Lion El’Jonson

Get ready to command the Dark Angels, Dark Mechanicum and Knight Houses when they join the game in the new Crusade expansion, releasing on November 13th. The new expansion brings the next step of Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions, exploring some of the factions that were most plagued by internal divisions, or straight-up born from sedition.

The release of the Crusade expansion will also make the Caliban expansion Legacy-exclusive, and the Defenders of Caliban will only be playable in Legacy mode. Keep reading to learn more.

An Imperium fractured

No corner of the Galaxy remained indifferent after the Warmaster’s revolt took place. Seemingly sudden, its seeds had been buried for decades, taking root and bringing in as many allies to the cause as possible. Whether via promises of power, greatness or simply an affinity to Horus’ vision of the Imperium, there was no influential power in the Imperium that was not tempted by the Warmaster’s promise. But some of them responded louder than others.

Enter the Inner Circle of the Dark Angels

The knights of Caliban’s actions spoke louder than any speech or saga. Unrelenting and exceptionally efficient, The Lion and his Dark Angels made an art out of punishing those with dreams of sedition, both outside and within their own ranks.

On November 13th, Lion El’Jonson will return to Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions like never before, together with 2 of the most iconic Dark Angels of the Heresy and a new host of troops and tactics.

Command abominable creations with the Dark Mechanicum

While the Dark Angels fought against the fracturing Imperium, the Dark Mechanicum thrived in it. Born from The Schism of Mars, the Magos and Tech-Priests of the Dark Mechanicum saw in Horus a new opportunity to access long-forbidden technology and achieve greatness by perfecting and harnessing its power.

The Dark Mechanicum arrives as a completely new faction, separated from the neutral Mechanicum collection. This means that Dark Mechanicum cards will only be available for the decks of Dark Mechanicum Warlords. A small number of thematically traitor-aligned cards that are currently part of the neutral Mechanicum’s collection will also have their faction reassigned and join the Dark Mechanicum collection. This means that you might have to tweak some of your decks after the update, but the cards will remain in your collection, now as part of the Dark Mechanicum.

Anacharis Scoria will become one of the new Warlords to lead the Dark Mechanicum in their quest for true enlightenment. Get ready to unleash unspeakable technologies against those who stand in the Warmaster’s way!

Merge with a machine spirit as the Knight Houses

The proud nobles of the Knight Houses are getting ready for their return to their personal quests for glory! During the Horus Heresy, each House pledged fealty according to its own designs, and each House found itself facing the Astartes Legions and more in the name of the Emperor or the Warmaster.

Three new pilots will command their Knight armours into battle when the Knight Houses faction joins the battlefields of the Horus Heresy! Are you ready to gear up your knight and sit on the Throne Mechanicum?

The Defenders of Caliban return to Aldurukh

As has been the case since Shadow of the Warmaster, the introduction of a new expansion will render a classic expansion’s cards exclusive to Legacy mode. When the Crusade expansion launches, the Caliban expansion will slowly become playable only in Legacy mode. This means the Dark Angels cards of the Caliban expansion will not be available for Standard play when the first batch of content of the Crusade expansion releases on the 13th of November. This will be the case for the Defenders of Caliban, Knight Houses and Neutral cards included in the Caliban expansion as new batches of Crusade content are released.

The Defenders of Caliban faction will not be available for Standard play in the foreseeable future, but players will still be able to enforce their domain of Caliban in Legacy mode, bringing down their enemies with dark secrets and jaeger salvos. Some iconic characters from this faction will also show up as more content releases for the new Dark Angels collection, so stay tuned to learn more about this!

The new expansion for Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions is currently planned to be released in bi-weekly drops of content, starting with the Dark Angels arriving in the game on November 13th. The final content drop will introduce a new batch of neutral cards and the Crusade expansion crates into the game.

The Crusade expansion’s release starts on November 13th! Where will your loyalties align? Which side will you favour in the ever-changing tides of battle? Get ready to take control of the Dark Angels and collect a whole new faction to start your Crusade!

The Horus Heresy: Legions is available on Steam, iOS and Android.
