New loyalist Legions join The Horus Heresy: Legions in its first major expansion.

The Horus Heresy: Legions is receiving its first content expansion, Isstvan V. It will introduce three new traitor Space Marine Legions, with 140 new cards and 9 warlords, starting with the relentless Iron Hands, the first Loyalist Legion in the game. They will be  followed by the fire-forged Salamanders and the stealthy Raven Guard Legion in the coming weeks.

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel series, The Horus Heresy: Legions takes one of the richest settings in the vast Warhammer 40,000 universe and reimagines it as a digital card game where you can build a deck of unstoppable Space Marines to take part in quick, brutal online duels. Lead your Legion with warlords such as Loken, Khârn, Mortarion and many other epic characters, as you relive the battles that tore apart the Imperium of Mankind.

The Isstvan V expansion will be set during The Dropsite Massacre, a tragic turning point in Warhammer 40,000 history. It revealed that the Traitor Warmaster Horus had swayed four more Legions to his caused, and he used them to crush the Loyalists that had been sent to stop him:

The Iron Hands

The Iron Hands will lead the charge of new content. Renowned for their pride, cold-hearted warfare and remorselessness in battle, the Iron Hands were amongst the most powerful and famed Space Marine Legions of the Great Crusade. In gameplay, the Iron Hands feature unique mechanics mirroring their approach to warfare. Chief of all is their emblematic trait, Relentless, an ability that triggers at the start of every turn, allowing them to turn their momentum into an unstoppable charge impossible to resist.

Three iconic warlords will command the Tenth Legion: Shadrak Meduson, Warleader of the Shattered Legions; Gabriel Santar, Captain of the Morlocks; and Ferrus Manus, the Primarch of the Iron Hands himself. You’ll be able to play all three in a new Event also featuring Fulgrim, Primarch of the Emperor’s Children!

The Salamanders

Next, the Salamanders will join the assault on Horus. The XVIII Legion stands for duty, toil and sacrifice. Sacrifice is the Legion’s unique trait, which lets them affect the battlefield if they die attacking. The Salamanders wield the tools of the smith as weapons of war, bringing raw strength of arms to strike down the enemies of the Emperor. Then, fire. Fire is a vital element of Salamanders culture, both as a spiritual symbol and as a weapon of choice.

Expect many Traitors to burn at the hands of the Salamanders, who will be led by their Primarch, Vulkan, their Lord Commander, venerable dreadnought Cassian Vaughn, and one of their most iconic captains, Artellus Numeon.

The Raven Guard

Lastly, the Raven Guard will descend upon the Traitors. From its earliest days, the warriors of the XIX Legion were known as cunning and patient hunters. Corvus Corax codified speed, stealth and precision into their doctrine to form the most effective form of guerrilla warfare. Their thirst for justice is represented in game with their unique Sentenced trait. Any Sentenced enemy will receive additional damage from every individual source of damage while the effect lasts. It can be stacked to portray the Raven Guard’s iconic hit and run tactics: tag your enemy, destroy it and retreat back into stealth!
The Primarch himself come out of the shadows to fight the Traitor Legions. At his side he will have his long-time friend, Commander Agapito Nev, and the young Apothecary Vincente Sixx.

More warlords and cards will be introduced during various Events covering the fierce clashes of Legions during the brief hours of the first assault on the Traitor’s fortress.

The Horus Heresy: Legions is available on Steam, iOS and Android.
