The first faction of the Inferno expansion made its entrance two weeks ago! The Space Wolves led the hunt against the traitors and their first showing was… underwhelming. The pack’s ability to claim victory did not quite match their ferocity, but this is merely the start of their saga.

In this month’s balance update, the focus is primarily on minor adjustments to the new Space Wolves, with a larger one on their Primarch, Leman Russ. This update also brings changes to Warlords and factions that, thanks to last month’s update, have started to display frustrating play patterns. Check out all the changes below!

Space Wolves

  • Leman Russ: Change Hunt ability to: ‘Hunt: Give +1/0 to a random friendly troop’
  • Bulveye Greybeard: Increase Initiative from Low to Medium
  • Apothecary Torfin: Increase attack from 2 to 3
  • Torrvald Rhino: Increase attack from 3 to 4
  • Deathsworn Veteran: Increase stats from 4/4 to 5/5
  • Geri: Increase attack from 5 to 6
  • Thegn King’s-bane: Change description to: ‘Pack: Give 0/+1 to your units’ (so it now affects himself as well)
  • Bestial Savagery: Lower cost from 3 to 2
  • Spirit of Fenris: Lower cost from 7 to 6

Orphans of War

  • Nerat Kirine: Lower initiative from High to Medium
  • Sisypheum Crewmates: Increase ability cost from 0 to 1
  • Blackshield Outriders: Change description to ‘Flank. Rally: Put in a play another Blackshield Outriders and give it Sneak Attack.’ (instead of having Sneak Attack himself, so only the extra Outriders have Sneak Attack)
  • Moritat Syras: Lower Health from 5 to 4
  • Sergeant Khorak: Change description to: ‘Resolution: Heals 2. Rally: Give Poison 3 to an enemy troop’ (instead of heals 3)

Death Guard

  • Hadrabulus Vioss: Lower attack from 2 to 1, and change description to: ‘Poisonous 1. Has +1/0 during the enemy turn’
  • Leech Life: Increase cost from 2 to 3
  • Noxious Strike: Increase cost from 5 to 6

World Eaters

  • Kharad’s Rampagers: Lower attack from 3 to 2
  • Vicious Strike: Increase cost from 7 to 8
  • Gladiatorial Pits: Increase cost from 5 to 6

Mechanicum

  • Arkhan Land: Lower Initiative from Medium to Low

Dark Angels

  • Tenacity (Forbidden Secret): Increase quest requirement from 3 to 4

Daemons of the Ruinstorm

  • Cor’bax Utterblight: Remove Relentless ability

All of these changes will go live shortly! Assemble your deck and prepare for a new month full of challenges and rewards in the ranked ladder. Will you try to climb the ladder with a new Warlord this month?
