The path to Terra will be paved with broken worlds.

– Princeps of the Dies Irae

A Groundbreaking new Faction

The days of peace are over, make way for the days of wrath! The Traitor Legios arrive to The Horus Heresy: Legions as the second new faction to join the game as part of the Titandeath expansion. Changed by the ruinous powers and aided by the Warmaster, the Titans of the Legios that turned against the Emperor begin their march to the many battlefields of the Galaxy, ready to triumph and bring oblivion to their enemies.

Their hulls have been twisted and corrupted by the powers of the Warp to whom the Legios have pledged their allegiance to, and their Princeps have become savage and blood-thirsty. The God-Machines of Chaos stride into the game with new cards and mechanics to demolish any who dares stand against them. Will you be able to harness the power of these tainted machines of fire and ruin?

The Beast Within

Being in contact with the powers of Chaos is not without risk. The Four Gods often bestow their “blessings” upon the warriors they favour, changing them in unspeakable ways to further increase the slaughter. Titans are no different. Since joining Horus in his revolt, the machine-spirits of the Titans from the Traitor Legios have been possessed by forces of the Immaterium, making them act in an unpredictable manner. Their inner daemons have awakened.

Awakened is a new ability introduced into the game with this faction to represent the chaotic nature of the possessed God-Engines. At the start of a player’s turn, any Awakened unit they control has a 50% chance to act on its own. When one of these units acts of its own accord, it will use whichever action the machine-spirit considers best, whether it’s attacking or using its ability. Being Awakened makes units in the new faction unpredictable, but also opens them to new interactions, with cards that only affect Awakened units or effects that are enhanced if you control a unit affected by this ability.

Three collectable warlords will represent the forces of the new faction:

  • Hatred Unbound: Reaver Titan of Legio Magna, a brutal engine built for close range fights.
  • Nuntio Dolores: Warlord Titan of Legio Vulpa, a Titan known for the ruthlessness of its Princeps.
  • Dies Irae: Imperator Titan of Legio Mortis, the most infamous of all Traitor Titans.

Yes, that’s right! The infamous Dies Irae is coming to the game. For the first time in the history of The Horus Heresy: Legions, players will be able to collect and command one of the towering Imperator Titans on the battlefield. Actively fighting for the Warmaster’s side throughout all of the Horus Heresy, this Imperator Titan is getting closer to Terra by the minute. Will you dare mind-link with its machine-spirit and unleash its Hellstorm Cannon upon your enemies?

Mastering the Titan Builder

It wasn’t only the Loyalists who had the capacity to forge Titans, for Mars and many other Forge Worlds had sided with the Warmaster in the breakout of the Horus Heresy, enabling them to resupply and restock their armaments.

Just like their Loyalist counterparts, the new faction will also have access to the new Titan Builder tool to customize their Titan’s initial loadout. To access the new feature, start building a deck for either a Reaver-Class or a Warlord-Class Titan, and then click or tap on the Titan Builder button that will show up just below the warlord.

There, you will be able to arm your God-Engine with any of the Titan Weapons you have collected from opening rewards containing cards from the new faction. If you want to dominate the battlefield with your own Titan, mastering the Titan Builder is a must!

There’s more to come in the Titandeath expansion!

Further reinforcements for The Agents of the Sigillite, Ruinstorm, Knight Houses, Orphans of War, Sisters of Silence and Legio Custodes will be arriving on the 1st July, giving them new missions, troops, tactics and a 5th Warlord!

Following them, Chaos, Imperial Army and Mechanicum forces will join as reinforcements on the 15th July to round up the expansion, and Titandeath crates containing all of the expansion’s cards will become available.

Titandeath was announced during the Warhammer Skulls event, and is sure to become the biggest expansion for The Horus Heresy: Legions to date!
