It is during the darkest times when light shines brightest. Time and again, the Blood Angels have been the Imperium’s beacon, piercing through clouded skies and landing on the battlefield bearing hope and righteous vengeance. For this, the Warmaster made sure Sanguinius would not be able to swiftly respond when his revolt began, sending him on a cursed mission to Signus. It was there that the Red Thirst was manifested for the first time, but ultimately, Horus’ plan failed. And now, the IXth Legion has set a new course.
The Blood Angels join Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions as the first new faction of the Beta-Garmon expansion, bringing their radiant fury to the battlefield! The new faction becomes collectable on May 8th at around 12 pm UTC, featuring striking new art and mechanics that capture the essence of Sanguinius’ sons. Will you take flight with the angels of Baal and turn the tide of war? Keep reading to learn how to collect them!
New keyword: Avenge
Tragedy and sacrifice would come to define the Blood Angels, but even amidst betrayal and death, their resolve never faltered. Where others fell to darkness, they would rise to its defiance—undaunted, unyielding. This new Avenge keyword aims to bring this bloodthirsty temerity into the game.
Cards with Avenge X will trigger additional effects when played if X friendly troops have died while the card was in hand. No one has ever doubted the prowess of the Blood Angels, but when push comes to shove, they can go above and beyond to bring righteous vengeance to the table. Whenever a friendly troop dies while a card with Avenge is in hand, they will tally that death and get one step closer to wreaking havoc.
Blood Angels warlords
There are many names of heroic Blood Angels who gave their all in the Horus Heresy. They will forever be remembered, and their names etched among the stars, but only three of them will get to lead the new Blood Angels into battle when the Legion joins the game:
- Dominion Zephon: After receiving new bionics from Arkhan Land, Zephon fought at his full potential during the Siege of Terra.
- Raldoron: First among his Legion’s captains, Raldoron is respected for his tactical insight and superb martial skill.
- Sanguinius: Often seen as the greatest of his kin, Sanguinius is a peerless warrior and beloved hero of the Imperium.

How to start collecting them
There are many ways to collect Blood Angels cards, especially during the first weeks after their release! Take a look at them:
- Today is the last day to soar high on day one with huge Webshop pre-sale bundles! Check out the details here.
- Blood Angels faction crates contain 5 random cards, 3 of them guaranteed from the NEW Blood Angels collection, including a rare card or better, and the other 2 from all cards released since the Shadow of the Warmaster expansion.

New event: First Blood
Test the new faction in a timed event focused on its struggles against the Warmaster’s forces, right after their arrival to the Beta-Garmon system! The Warmaster’s hold on Beta-Garmon II must be broken! From the skies the Blood Angels descend, sparing none of their fury as they attack the Anvil star fort.
Remember to complete the guaranteed “Win 3 matches” daily mission to unlock a free event run every day and kickstart your Blood Angels collection. Every reward crate in the event contains at least 1 of the new cards!
