“We are the harbingers of ruin!”
– Serob Kargul
Brought up in the feral world of Barbarus, the Death Guard have become a mirror of the planet’s inhabitants since their Primarch’s rediscovery. Though their ability to resist and outlive their enemies is well known, few in the Legion represent this resilience and relentless resolve better than Lord Contemptor Serob Kargul, who now joins the game as a new collectable Warlord! This fearsome Warlord enters the game as part of the new Battle Pass, are you ready to add him to your collection? Keep reading to find out how!

Harbinger of death
When the seeds of the Horus Heresy were sown, Mortarion was among the easiest to sway to the Warmaster’s side. His deep-seated hatred of the Warp made him susceptible to Horus’ rebellion, for the Warmaster’s defiance of the Emperor seemed aligned with his own convictions. Yet the once paragon of resilience and discipline would become the greatest victim of his own betrayal. It was his First Captain who orchestrated the Legion’s fall to the Ruinous Powers. Under Typhon’s hand, the Death Guard was led blindly into the Warp and left at the mercy of the Ruinous Powers.
Serob Kargul was present when the Legion changed. When Mortarion pledged loyalty to a new master, the Legion was spared from torturous undeath, but Kargul would change and be remade in the image of their newfound master together with much of the Death Guard. Accepting the gifts of Nurgle, the Lord Contemptor would make use of his unparalleled resilience during the Siege of Terra, where he assaulted the Delphic battlement. You can follow the Death Guard’s fall to ruin in The Buried Dagger, as well as the Legion’s part during the Siege in many of the Siege of Terra novels, such as Warhawk and The End and the Death Volume I.
