Nocturne angers with your presence.

Nomus Rhy’tan, Keeper of the Keys of Prometheus

As part of the Isstvan Atrocity, the Salamanders were nearly destroyed  alongside the Iron Hands and Raven Guard, as their once allies turned their guns upon them. Vulkan was lost, believed dead, but many surviving Salamanders had faith in otherwise, often going into battle with a cry of “Vulkan lives!” Although no sign of the Primarch could be found, his loyal sons were correct, Vulkan had survived the Massacre.

Promethean Rebirth

Following the retreat from Isstvan, Vulkan had been captured by Konrad Curze, who tortured and inflicted madness upon him. Escaping via a teleportation device built into his hammer after sparing Curze’s life following a brutal duel, Vulkan arrived on Macragge in an insane rage, before he was slain by a weapon made of the Emperor’s own psychic might.

Taken by Artellus Numeon to Nocturne, they encountered foes on their perilous journey, before landing upon their homeworld. As soon as they arrived, they had to defend it against an assault by the Death Guard, who attempted to capitalize on the devastation the Legion had already suffered.

The defenders, and the planet itself, resisted under the leadership of the Lord Chaplain, Nomus Rhy’tan, and fought off the Death Guard invasion. During a Promethean ritual of their creed, Vulkan was resurrected beneath the flames of Mount Deathfire, and promptly disappeared from Nocturne’s surface.

The Voice of Fire

Nomus Rhy’tan, left behind on their homeworld by Vulkan to supervise the recruitment of new Salamanders and teach them in the ways of the Legion, took command of the garrison to defend against the Death Guard attack. Until Numeon returned, sole leadership of the Legion was believed to be with him, but with Numeon’s own disappearance after the resurrection of Vulkan, it fell to the Lord Chaplain.

Leading a comprehensive and powerful defence of their homeworld against the corrupted sons of Mortarion, he relied on the planet itself and its lethal creatures, as much as the warriors under his command. Join in the new campaign to see who he fought and how he managed to complete this feat.
