I bring illumination!Emperor of Mankind
As we continue to unveil the upcoming 4th Anniversary update, we take a look into another major feature that will be released on March 17th: Premium Cards!
Throughout the civil war of the Horus Heresy, some warriors and stratagems became cornerstone’s of a Legion’s tactics. The formidable Vengeful Spirit of the Sons of Horus, the Deathwing of the Dark Angels, or the terrifying Gal Vorbak of the Word Bearers to name a few. To properly recognise the power and prestige of a card, we are introducing a way to show off your cards with an amazing and distinct new look.
Premium cards can either be found in crates, or crafted. To craft a Premium card, a player must already have the maximum number of copies of said card (usually two copies, or only one for Warlords and Legendary cards).
When selecting a card in your Collection, you will have the option of seeing its Premium version, and of crafting it if you have enough gems to do so. Crafting a premium card costs 4x the individual price of the card in the Shop.
A player can own up to two Premium copies of each card (or just one in the case of Warlords and Legendary cards). If a player already receives further copies of a Premium card when opening a crate, they will be converted into gems, providing 4x the number of gems of the normal version of the card.
Showing off your Premium cards
A Premium card will appear as a separate card in your Collection, next to the normal copy, although they will class as the same card for the purpose of card limits.
For cards created during play (eg. by Alpharius, Maloghurst, Eightfold Brand…), the card generated will be Premium, as long as the card which created it is also Premium.
Special Cards in hand (Reckonings, Whispers or other) will be Premium if the Warlord is also Premium.
Lastly, a faction’s Counterattack will also become Premium if the whole starting deck is composed entirely of Premium cards.
This is just one of several new features in the upcoming update on 17th March! Read all about the Prestige Levels and Mentoring System, and stay tuned for more news on the 4th Anniversary update. Don’t forget to watch the teaser on Youtube and discuss the news with other players on social media!
